What you need to know:

  • You must register with a valid email address and a user name of your choosing. You do NOT have to reveal your real name. But we need your real email address.

HOW TO REGISTER

  • Click on the logo on the right to open the main Forum page. You can do that now: The Forum will open in a separate window, and you can keep this page up for reference.
  • Click on word Register in the blue bar at top, or on the Register button beneath the banner.
  • Fill in the simple Registration form. Please read our User Agreement and Disclaimer, and click on the Register button at the bottom to submit.
  • You soon will receive a validation email with a password. You must click on the link in this validation within 72 hours, or you'll have to start again.
  • Once you reply to the validation email, just log in, you're set! You can change your password if you wish by clicking on the Profile button, and then clicking on Modify.

TO POST A QUESTION or COMMENT:

  • Go the main Forum page.
  • Login with your user name and password. (Click on Login in top bar, or click the Login button under the banner).
  • Choose one of the five PaFOIC DISCUSSION BOARDS:
    • About the PaFOIC
    • Open Records Help Board
    • Open Meetings Help Board
    • Open Discussion on Open Government
    • Tales and Tips
  • On any of these discussion board pages, you may Start New Topic, or click on one of the existing topics and Reply to it.
  • Click on the Notification button if you'd like to receive an email whenever someone replies to your topic.
  • That's all there is to it! There are many other functions and features on the Forum. Click on the Help button under the banner on the Forum site for details.
